Interestingly enough, I put an entry in my blog last month about how a bad economy could help a District (http://www.willhsiung.com/tmblog/?p=136). During the last downturn, District 30 grew leaps and bounds, culminating in reaching #3 in the world in 2003. When things went well afterwards, it couldn't grow as well as before and many members seemed to have a hard time attending meetings or performing their TM duties due to heavy work demands!
